MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Information sessions about indigent support or pensioner rebates, which can reduce the cost of basic municipal services if a household meets certain criteria, will be hosted on Wednesday and Thursday, 22 and 23 July.
Two more sessions will also be hosted next week. Resident can attend all sessions between 15:00 and 19:00. Here are the dates and venues:
• 22 July - Asla Park Community Hall
• 23 July - Joe Slovo Community Hall
• 29 July - Brandwag Community Hall
• 30 July - Voortrekker Hall, Heiderand
At these sessions, officials from the Mossel Bay Municipality will be available to:
• assist with applications for indigent support
• assist pensioners with rebate applications
• explain qualifying criteria
• advise residents regarding supporting documentation
• assist with municipal account enquiries
“Support is available to qualifying pensioners, low-income households and certain households that include a person with a disability. However, many residents never enquire about available assistance and therefore miss out on benefits that could significantly reduce their monthly municipal expenses,” said the municipality.
