MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Areas in Mossel Bay that were previously not affected by load shedding will also be added to Mossel Bay Municipality's load-limiting programme.
This means that all areas in Mossel Bay will now be affected.
The municipality noted in a press release this week that it had done everything possible within the legal framework to protect businesses from load shedding to prevent job losses and to benefit the local economy.
However, the national electricity supply situation remains dire.
The municipality was, therefore, approached by Eskom to apply load-limiting to more areas previously not affected.
As previously undertaken, the municipality's infrastructure department has progressed with upgrading the telemetry system, switchgear and processes. More areas can therefore be added to the municipality's load-limiting programme, as per Eskom's request.
The implementation date is expected to be by Monday, 4 September, the municipality noted.
