MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay NSRI on Sunday recovered an interesting, unmanned boat off Outeniqua Beach.
According to Glenda Maritz, the NSRI Mossel Bay duty controller, NSRI crew aboard the sea rescue craft St Blaze Rescuer on Sunday, 14 October at 12:45 responded to eyewitness reports of an unmanned boat that was found adrift off the Outeniqua Beach.
"On arrival on the scene we found what appears to be a derelict boat from unknown origin that most likely drifted during Saturday's strong winds," Maritz said.
The boat was not in a condition to be towed to the Mossel Bay harbour and as a precaution, the boat was beached. No further assistance was required of the NSRI.
