Henru said: "I started dancing but only made it to day three because of an ankle injury, but I was not ready to go home.
"We spoke to the AMDA High School team and they were more than willing to move me to the acting programme."
Broadway
Highlights of his visit to New York were seeing the show, & Juliet, on Broadway, visiting art galleries and especially seeing an original Vincent van Gogh painting.
Henru said: "We went to the Museum of Broadway and I was blown away by the craftsmanship of the historic Broadway outfits."
He will be back in South Africa, flying into Cape Town, on 21 July. His mother Christine is with him on the trip.
He is a Grade 11 Point High School learner.
Henru does contemporary, tap and ballet dancing and is a member of Steps Dance Academy in Voorbaai, Mossel Bay.
