MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Lockdown seems to be getting to people.
Like birds which have been caged, they are longing for their freedom.
Anika Koekemoer, a beauty salon owner based in Dana Bay, has been polishing her skills during the lockdown, although she is not allowed to see clients.
She has been doing her family members' nails.
What is interesting is her choice of subject matter: birds in cages, birds in trees and birds in flight.
When asked by the Mossel Bay Advertiser if she is feeling imprisoned during the lockdown, like a bird in a cage, and this is being expressed in her nail art, Anika replies: "During the lockdown I have had the opportunity to do many online nail artist courses, including one on painting birds.
"I love nature and am missing the freedom of being in nature at the moment."
