MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay branch of the South African Chamber of Business Women (SABCW) claimed a notable accolade at the SACBW Recognition Awards and Gala Event when they were named branch of the year. The Western Cape was named SABCW province of the year.
Local business woman, Marlene Smuts won the business woman of the year award and community warrior woman winner, is Laurie Edwall from George. Smuts was also named national ambassador for the SABCW.
The awards were held on Friday, 22 October. During the local event, non-profit organisation Myrtle Tree, founded by radio personality and community leader, Berenice Kogana-Paulson, handed over 59 Dignity Handbags. Myrtle Tree was founded as an outreach to single mothers. The Dignity Handbags are filled with necessities for women.
