MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The police's Great Brak Women's Conference will be held tomorrow, Saturday 2 December, as part of the police's 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign.
The conference will take place at the AGS Greenhaven church at 12:00. The dress code is denim and white.
Young and old are welcome to attend the event, where three guest speakers from Great Brak, Mossel Bay and George will be sharing their stories.
This will also serve as a call to action for all women to "stop the circle of silent abuse", said Great Brak Police spokesperson Sergeant Lauriane Botha.
The theme if the day is "Step out of Your Storm into Your Destiny".
The 16 Days nationwide initiative is a United Nations campaign, which is held annually from 25 November (International Day for No Violence Against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
This year marks the 25th year since South Africa initiated the campaign. It focuses on raising awareness of the devastating impact that gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) has on women and children and the social fabric of our society.
