A local 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign will launch at the VGK Church, Watsonia Avenue, Great Brak on Sunday, 26 November.

Here it will run under the title "16 Days of Prayer". 

The launch will start at 10:00 accompanied by the hashtag #REDUCEGBVFMOSSELBAY2023.

Stakeholders include the SAPS, child welfare, the Mossel Bay Municipality and more.

The nationwide initiative is a United Nations campaign, which is held annually from 25 November (International Day for No Violence Against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day).

This year marks the 25th anniversary since South Africa initiated the campaign. It focuses on raising awareness to the devastating impact that gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) has on women and children, and the social fabric of our society.
