The Animal Medical Centre is the hub of the Vitalvet group, based at 10 Knysna Road in George. The centre is equipped to handle any type of pet emergency and has all the blood machines, X-ray and ultrasound equipment to enable full medical check-ups.

With two dedicated theatres as well as 24-hour veterinary nursing for in-patients, Vitalvet Animal Medical Centre does all the after-hours work for the Vitalvet Mossel Bay branch.

At the Animal Medical Centre, routine surgery list includes sterilisation, any type of soft tissue surgery, lump removals and dental surgery. It even has an orthopaedic surgeon who visits monthly to add to its client offering.

Vitalvet Mossel Bay has a fully functioning theatre, equipped to offer sterilisations, soft tissue surgery, dental work and X-rays on a daily basis. Both branches offer a new vaccination protocol which includes a vaccine against Leptospirosis (MSD L6), listed as a core vaccine by the World Small Animal Veterinary Association.

The Leptospirosis bacteria causes liver and kidney failure and it can also spread to people. It is therefore an important disease to prevent, via vaccination.
