The event is a celebration of travel, and of the tourism industry in the Garden Route and the Klein Karoo – and tomorrow's showcase is designed both for members of the public and for members of the industry.
"We're loving the first Mossel Bay Travel Festival, because it's a new way of marketing the town using the power of the internet," said Mossel Bay Tourism's Marcia Holm. She said that the Mossel Bay Travel Festival is affiliated to the New York Travel Festival, and that the originator and organiser of the New York Travel Festival, Roni Weiss, has come to South Africa as the guest of honour at the Mossel Bay event.
Mr Weiss will officially open the exhibition in the Museum at 10:00 tomorrow morning. More than 50 exhibitors will showcase their products – and the exhibitor list ranges from hotels to guest houses, from game lodges to golf courses, and from accommodation associations to community projects.
Win a holiday!
"There's also a great holiday up for grabs – twelve thousand rands worth of tickets for two on the 4-day Oystercatcher Trail, with accommodation and all meals included," said Ms Holm. But, she said, the only way to enter for the competition will be by filling out an entry form in person at the Oystercatcher's table in the Museum.
