MOSSEL BAY NEWS - "I actually feel calm after receiving my results," said Luchen Moolman, the second of Sao Bras High School's top three matric learners.
The Class of 2025 received their National Senior Certificate results on Tuesday 13 January.
Moolman is the first person in his family to complete his matric year, as both of his parents were unable to.
"It's a huge achievement for the family, I'm breaking generational curses," he said.
2025 was a challenge, but one he was able to get through with God's help, he says.
"Every day I had to wake up and tell myself to keep going, and to ask God to keep me going. He gave me everything I needed."
Moolman told Mossel Bay Advertiser he achieved two distinctions and has plans to begin studying financial accounting at Stellenbosch University this year.
He is confident he will succeed even more in the future, trusting in himself, his faith and the support of his family.
Sao Bras High achieved a pass rate of 92.6%, an increase from last year's 89.3%.
The school's principal, Henry Willemse, told the Advertiser that the school's motto for the year, 'It can be done, it must be done, it will be done', has definitely become a reality.
