MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality will have an open day for disposal of household hazardous waste on Thursday, 19 September at the Mossel Bay town hall in Marsh Street and on Friday, 20 September at the Mossel Bay Municipal offices in Great Brak River.
Deliveries on both days can be made from 08:30 until 14:30.
The following items can be handed in: motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, used antifreeze, paint, paint thinner, turpentine, pesticides or herbicides, household batteries, CRTs, old TVs, miscellaneous electronic items, tyres, fluorescent tubes and globes, as well as household medical waste (needles and old medicine and tablets).
The following items are NOT accepted: explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials and controlled substances. Bring the items you wish to dispose of in a strong box, preferably in their original, labelled containers. Do not mix products together.
Be prepared to leave your containers, because of permit requirements, and the volume of people that drop off their rubbish.
This is your opportunity to get rid of these items at no cost and at a convenient, nearby location.
