MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An intelligence-driven operation by the police and the Mossel Bay municipal K9 unit led to the arrest of a 35-year-old foreign national and the confiscation of drugs with a street value of about R400 000.
Spokesperson for the KwaNonqaba Police, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said the operation took place on 13 November at a house in Adriaans Avenue, Asla Park.
The drugs included 388g of tik, 602g of cocaine and 707 mandrax tablets, the municipality noted in a statement.
According to Kapp, the suspect appeared in court on 15 November on charges of dealing in drugs, "and will appear in court at a later date as per the court".
The date is not yet known.
"According to reports the suspect has previously been convicted on charges of dealing in drugs and has been linked to other similar cases in other police precincts," Kapp confirmed.
The investigation is ongoing.
