MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Mossel Bay's Rylan Lemmetuis excelled at the Talent Africa Nationals in Alberton.
Two judges from the United States officiated at the contest, held on 30 September.
He has qualified for the International Performing Arts Championships, taking place in the United States in July next year.
Rylan won a top 10 junior vocalist award, a gold medal for vocal pop and another gold medal for vocal Broadway. Aged 11, he is a Grade 5 learner at Curro Mossel Bay.
Rylan sang Middle of the moment for the Broadway number and for the pop number, Always remember us this way. Also from Mossel Bay, Johané Dercksen, aged four, took part in the nationals in Cape Town on 15 October and achieved her Springbok colours for modelling. The nationals were held both in Alberton and Cape Town this year.
Johané will now also take part in the international competition in July.
She won four gold medals, one top 10 crystal medal and a top 10 badge, an aged three to five first place trophy and a first place award certificate.
Separate from this competition, she has also been nominated for a South African Youth and Children's Award, as have Zoë Fortun and Jordin Naudé, who are also from Mossel Bay.
