KWANONQABA NEWS - Earlier this week, ten years after the murder of 59-year-old George James, the KwaNonqaba Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the crime.
James reportedly died from an injury sustained to his head and was later found in his home in the KwaNonqaba area in 2016.
Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, spokesperson of the KwaNonqaba Police, told Mossel Bay Advertiser that Warrant Officer Geoffrey Moos arrested Lionel Sito (53) in Ndibaniso Avenue on Monday 9 March.
Kapp says the arrest was made with assistance from members of the community as well as members of the KwaNonqaba Community Policing Forum (CPF).
Moos has been the investigating officer assigned to the case since 2016. "The investigation has never ceased," said Kapp.
Sito, who was 43 at the time of the incident, made his first appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 11 March.
He will make his next appearance on 23 March for a formal bail application and will remain in police custody until then.
