MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An East London team, the Buffalo City Municipality Masters (BCMM), was crowned champion of the thrilling CBS Legends Soccer Tournament, which took place from 21 to 23 March in Mossel Bay.

The matches were played at the Extension 23 fields in KwaNonqaba.

Fifteen teams, including ones from Mossel Bay, participated in the tournament, which kicked off at 10:00 last Friday.

CBS Legends Football Club chairman, Snail August, previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser the club established the tournament to address the decline in local football support and the absence of large-scale tournaments in Mossel Bay.

In the finals on Sunday, BCMM and Hessequa Legends played each other. By fulltime, the teams were tied 1-1 and then the game went to overtime.

BCMM ended the match with a win of 4-2 in penalty points.
