HARTENBOS NEWS - The Da Gamaskop Police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a driver crashed his bakkie into the wall of a house in Port Natal Road, Hartenbos, on Thursday 9 July.
According to a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, the incident occurred at around 22:00 on Thursday night.
He said that, according to reports available at the time, Da Gamaskop police members responded to the scene and found a Nissan bakkie which had crashed into a wall.
When the police arrived on the scene, the driver was no longer there.
According to Rudi van der Berg of Meyer Towing, who had also responded to the scene, the driver had been taken to hospital by emergency services. The driver’s condition is unknown at this stage.
Spies said the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and no arrests have yet been made.
