MOSSEL BAY NEWS - I want to acknowledge every parent, teacher and every person known and unknown who, for over twelve years and more, helped to shape these learners so that they might have a brighter future. Thank you that you availed yourself so selflessly. When they became uncertain, vulnerable and sometimes even hopeless, you never stopped motivating them. You never gave up and never stopped believing in them. Rest assured that your influence on them contributed to their success and will continue to do so into the future.
To the class of 2018, I cannot stress it more that you are the leaders of tomorrow. You have just closed a door which, over the years, gave you comfort and security, almost against everything that could harm you or become a hurdle which could hamper you on your road to success.
There are still two doors in front of you. You yourself have to open them now. There’s no safety network around you, no teacher to assist you, no parent. It’s only you. In order to open the right door, the door to the future, you and you alone will have to always make the right decision.
The Council, the Municipality herewith not only wants to congratulate you with your achievements, but also wants to wish you everything of the best with all your endeavors that you will undertake in future. It is our hope and prayer that you would never open a door carelessly but always with caution and considering the consequences.
To the ones whom might not have been successful, remember that it is not the end of the road. Stay motivated and do take another bite at the cherry, I believe that you will succeed. To the parents, do not be disappointed but continue to positively motivate your child, he/she will eventually make it with your love and support.
Remember that your child is worth much more than the matric certificate. As I am proud of your child, you must also be proud of him/her.
To the class of 2018, on behalf of all our people, I wish you a bright future and may God’s favour and blessings rest upon you and your endeavours. Mossel Bay is proud of you.
