MOTORING NEWS - The WesBank Festival of Motoring will return to the Kyalami circuit from 31 August to 2 September this year. An added feature for the 2018 show will be the inclusion of two national motor sport categories as part of the on-track content.
The Sasol Global Touring Car and Investchem Formula 1600 Championships will form part of three packed show days.
"The Festival of Motoring provides a great platform for both categories to expose drivers and teams to a much wider audience," said Denis Klopper, content manager. More than 65 000 visitors are expected to attend. The races for both categories will form part of their respective national championships.
Visitors will have access to a live-feed broadcast on various media platforms, including large screens located at key points.
Both race categories will also create an interactive pit area allowing visitors access to the cars and drivers.
Show visitors will also see both static and active content including supercars, classic cars and historic motor sport. Industry-related companies will also exhibit at the event.
The Festival of Motoring will again pay tribute to local motor sport legends. Sarel van der Merwe will return in 2018 and has been confirmed as the grand marshal for the event.
Show visitors will have the opportunity to self-drive various models on the Kyalami handling track or be professionally driven around the long circuit.
