Katabe made the shock move from the defending Faz Super League champion to Nkana, who finished third last term, on a long-term deal.
Nkana chief executive officer Ken Mwansa said Katebe’s decision to forgo Caf Champions League football this season and join the 12-time champions is a show of intent in the race for the 2017 Faz title.
“As you are aware, we are trying to make sure that we reinforce the squad before the start of the soccer season and so far we have signed new deals with Aaron Katebe and Sam Chilupe,” Mwansa said.
Katebe joins Nkana following the expiry of his one-year deal with 2016 Super League champions Zanaco.
