At the fire in Brandwag at about 14:30 this afternoon, properties were endangered but the firefighters managed to contain the threat.
The Louis Fourie waste site fire was contained at about 15:30 but firefighters will for some time have to work at extinguishing the fire.
In the Brandwag and Friemersheim incidents, firefighters are currently working at damping down the hot spots.
Due to a fire raging near Oudtshoorn, the Eden Fire Service were not available to assist with the fires in Brandwag or Friemersheim.
With the current heat and wind, residents are reminded to be extra careful when working with fire or preparing food over open fires.
