Author Tiah Beautement is longlisted for the coveted 2015 Sunday Times Barry Ronge Fiction Prize. The winner will receive R100 000.
MOSSEL BAY NEWS FLASH - The 2015 Sunday Times Barry Ronge Fiction Prize longlist has been announced, and local author Tiah Beautement is on it, for her novel This Day (Modjaji). The winner will receive R100 000.
The list also includes internationally acclaimed writers, such as Zakes Mda, Sarah Lotz, Michiel Heyes and Lauren Beukes.
"I am still stunned to see my name listed with so many writers I've long admired and read," said Beautement.
Praise for This Day, includes wife of the late Agndre P Brink's, Karina Szczurek, who said of the novel, "A meticulously crafted novel about a day in the life of a grieving woman. . . Poetic, full of insights, and simply beautiful."
