Mfuleni rape victim returns to school

NATIONAL NEWS - A 13-year-old rape survivor from Mfuleni has returned to school after she was raped and beaten in her home.

Neighbours say the girl was attacked by two masked gunmen in the Shukushukuma informal settlement two weeks ago while she was preparing for school.

Police have not made arrests and say they have no new leads.

The 13-year-old girl has returned to school, but is still receiving trauma counselling.

Mfuleni police say they have reached an impasse, because witnesses have been unable to identify the balaclava-wearing suspects.

The men allegedly also wore leather gloves.
