The Department of Social Development had to remove the two-and-a-half year-old boy, whose father allegedly assaulted him at the age of four months, from his foster home. His six-year-old sister was also placed in the same foster home in Pretoria. It seems as if both children were neglected. Should the department be to blame for this serious matter?
YES: Social Development should do their homework properly before placing children in foster care. Irreversible damage has been done to both children.

NO: Social work try their best to keep children in a family environment. They would not know what the future holds after interviewing foster parents.
