Shoprite sponsors Farm Worker of the Year

AGRI NEWS - Shoprite has come on board as sponsor for the Farm Worker of the Year Award. A cheque of R750 000 was handed over to Western Cape Minister of Agriculture Gerrit van Rensburg at Elsenburg on Monday.
The competition has grown since 2002 to attract more than 1000 entrants from 16 regions in the Western Cape.
The regional winner will this year receive a prize money of more than R100 000.
“Shoprite’s financial commitment is an acknowledgement of the valuable contribution that farm worker makes towards our agricultural sector,” said Van Rensburg.
