MOSSEL BAY NEWS -The Mossel Bay Municipality's popular annual talent competition, the Mossel Bay's Got Talent show, will kick off with the first round of auditions on 4 May 2012, says the Municipality in a news release. An appeal is made to youths to enter the show that will climax with the finals on 16 June 2012.

This is the third consecutive season of the Mossel Bay's Got Talent competition, which is aimed at exploring the performing arts (song, dance, poetry and acting) talent of the youth of Mossel Bay, and to help them to develop their talent.

The show was established in 2010 and approximately 130 young people auditioned for the show, which carried a first prize of R10 000 for the winner and smaller prizes for runners up. National artists such as the Jamali R&B group, Gift Gwe and Marcha Lombard also performed at the finals of the 2010 show.

The first prize was increased to R20 000 for the 2011 show, which drew approximately 200 youths for the auditions. More than 1 900 people attended the finals, which was won by the Chronics dance group. This group was subsequently crowned as the champions in the category for small groups at the South African Hip Hop Championships.

The division of the prize money for 2012 still has to be finalised but total prize money of R30 000 as well as sponsor's prizes will be on offer:
